Between Tuscany and Liguria close to the sea next to Apuania Alps.One of the most astonishing Mediterean landscapewhere is possible to take cultural and artistic tourslike view marble quarries, or nature ones: Apuania Alps Park or Cinque Terre10 Person por stage maximum

Purpose of the stages : Each stage will try to focus in the use of marble in sculpturing and in the arts in general,working next to experienced craftsman in a real artistic marble workshop.
 

Stages Description

  

Stage A
One Month


Execution, rough sketch, finishing up with hand tools: mallet, gradine and double face cape chisels.

White Carrara Marble provided by the studio.

Months available are:
March, April, July,September
Cost L. 3.700.000 Italian Lire

Stage B
Two Month

First month the same as stage A. At the end artistic profile of each participants is brought to pursue technical skills focused on her/his specific interests. In both stages available classical figure model or, if you like, you can bring your own model.

Months available are: May First-June 30th October First-November 30th Cost L. 7.400.000 Italian Lire

Tools: available trestles, chisels e hammers. Proper working dress, glasses, hat suggested

Class schedule: workshop is open 9.00 am to 6.00 pm weekdays.

Lessons from Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 12.00 am and from 2.00pm to 5.pm

On Saturday morning is possible to work at your piece without assistance

Accommodation: double rooms. Breakfast and one meal at your choice (lunch or dinner)

How to get in Carrara: By air: closest airport 35 miles: Pisa ,Leonardo da Vinci Airport.

Then train 30 minutes Direction to Genova get off Carrara-Avenza station.

Workshop walking distance to train station.

By train: Carrara-Avenza station. Workshop walking distance to train station.

By car: Autorute A12 Genova-Livorno. Exit: Carrara.

Then ask for railroad station, workshop is located at streetlight right corner

on the avenue up few yards north (towards mountains) from the station
